Localism Week in Review June 9th - June 16th

I thought I spent a lot of time reading posts on ActiveRain, until Neal Bloom asked if I would like the honor of doing the Localism in Review. I jumped at the chance; I have family in town and a couple buyers this week but thought no problem. Wow, we put out a lot of information for Localism. It was difficult to keep up with some of you, but I managed to read a ton.

I would like to take this opportunity to encourage some of you to be sure to submit your posts to Localism and not just the Localism group there is a difference. A couple great bloggers out there had posts this week that I was amazed at the power of the information they were providing only to find they had not been submitted to Localism they were however posted to the group of Localism.

When you are writing to the consumer and it is about your state, your county or city or neighborhood... click through and add this as where it is posted. You will double your exposure with a couple mouse clicks.

There is a lot of great information being provided. It was fun to have the opportunity to really see some bloggers I had never read before, thank you for being so professional and helpful to our public side.

Now for my top 25 Localism posts - of course these are in no particular order.

1. Texas Transmits Herself Into Posterity..... by Danny Smith - this post features a little Texas history and Smith family history. I liked how this brought us back to our roots and reminds us of our past- something that is often times forgotten.

2. Colorado ATV tours, Colorado Rafting on Clear Creek, Colorado by Ray Saenz - this post features a great ATV tour for Colorado along with rafting too a great day trip for the visitor and local alike.

3. Griffith Park Update by Ana Connell BurbankGriffith Park is a well known and wonderful park in the Los Angeles Area - I spent a lot of time there as a child and learned about our solar system here. The fire that could have been much more devastating hit national news. This post lets you see what the damage was and what a great place this is, a must if visiting the area and a place more locals should take advantage of.

4. Avon Indiana Real Estate~Avon Indiana Homes by Paula Henry has done a great job in featuring specific neighborhoods with this post, each photo is a tour of the neighborhood. What a great idea for the buyers in this area.

5. Six babies are on their way in New Tampa by Lori Hakeem - every one loves a great baby story this one is pretty amazing a community helping with the new arrival of not one but 6 - wow

6. How to Choose a Realtor-Why a Good Friend is Not Always a Good Option by Teri Eckholmif you do not know Teri and her writing I suggest you check her stuff out. This post is so important with choosing a good agent rather than just someone you know.

24. Scottsdale Arizona Dog Owners - Scottsdale Arizona Dog Parks by Bob & Carolin Benjamin I live in the country so I would never have thought about the need for a dog to have a place to run and play - Bob & Carolin did and let the world know a few dog friendly parks in Scottsdale.

25. Services a Buyer or Seller Needs to Plan On by Danny Smith funny Danny was the first mentioned and he is also the last of this list. This is a great post about some of the professionals and services a buyer and seller may require during the process of buying or selling a home. Hosmer Lake | Central Oregon Hot Spot

Hosmer Fly FishingIf you are looking for the perfect place to cast a fly Hosmer Lake may be the end of your search. Hosmer Lake is 160 acres of water that is surrounded by peaceful beauty. Depth is only 8 to 10 feet in most places, but the water is cold even in the middle of summer, it is not unusual to find snow on the banks even in June or early July.

Hosmer produces some of the most fun fly fishing in Central Oregon. There is a strict catch and release law for any Atlantic Salmon - but you are allowed 5 Brook Trout per day if they are over 8" in length.

Although Hosmer is known for fly fishing I find that it is the perfect place to head out in a kayak. The beauty of this lake is beyond what most people will ever experience. You have spectacular views of many of the peaks of the Cascade Mountains. You will find breath taking views of Mt. Bachelor, South Sister and Broken Top.

Hosmer is the home to many elk, deer, ducks and other wildlife that make Central Oregon a special place to call home.

Hosmer fly fishingHosmer is known as one of Oregon's quiet waters; this fly fishing lake sees lots of canoes/kayaks and is ideal for drift boats, float tubes and pontoon boats for accessing the prime Central Oregon fly fishing water. Hosmer does allow electric motors but it does not allow gasoline engines but any motor must be OFF when fly fishing.
There are an amazing number of birds and animals here on Hosmer Lake Oregon. Bitterns, Ducks, Geese, Ospreys, Bald Eagles, Deer, Red-Winged Blackbirds and many others.
In the early season, it is the wise person who remembers to bring his/her Mosquito repellant as the little monsters can be voracious up here and are not shy about coming out over the fly fishing lakes.

While there are good campsites and outhouses here, there are no drinking water or shower facilities, plan ahead.
Hosmer Lake in Oregon can be an almost magical place, but it does not give up its secrets easily.

This is just one of the magical places in Central Oregon. When you want to make Central Oregon your home or you find it the perfect place for your vacation home I would be happy to share this fabulous area. The real estate market offers as many choices of behosmer lake birdauty as the scenery does.

Central Oregon Real Estate has a lot of great possibilities.

Central Oregon Riverfront Property

Riverfront Homes In Central Oregon

Knowing what you want from your riverfront property is one of the most important questions to answer. Waterfront properties are most often found on The Big Deschutes River, The Little Deschutes River, Fall River and Spring River. Each of these rivers have a uniqueness about them.

When purchasing property on any of these rivers there are things you need to know, there are issues that an experienced Realtor® should know and also will need to disclose to you. I am available to answer questions and show you the beauty that Central Oregon has to offer.

Central Oregon offers more choices than a lot of areas through out the United States. The show below is just a few of the reasons vistiors turn into locals.
