Central Oregon Real Estate Info: Day Trip to Eastern Oregon

Day Trip to Eastern Oregon

 Whether you are spending time in Oregon or living here Eastern Oregon is a great place to spend a day or two. My favorite time of the year in Eastern Oregon is Fall. The sunsets are beautiful, the colors are amazing and the wildlife are on the move.

 Today - I drove to Dayville which is about 30 miles west of John Day right on Hwy 26 - the trip is beautiful from Central Oregon - you will seriously see a little of everything. As you leave Prineville on Hwy 26 you will enter into the Ochoco Mountains which are beautifully treed with Ponderosa Pines and sprinkled with Aspen, Dog Woods and so much more.

It is not unusual to see deer, elk and possibly a coyote or two.

Some of the attractions that pull me to this beautiful area are;

John Day Fossil Beds

Painted Hills

Mitchell- a great little town which in the Spring is full of blooming lavender

Dayville

Picture Gorge

Beautiful sunset - the painted hills look pretty too.  I didn't realize Oregon had such varied terrain.
