Central Oregon Real Estate Info: Blogging - We Had Our First Class & What Great Beginner Bloggers

Blogging - We Had Our First Class & What Great Beginner Bloggers

Tonight I got together with 7 of my co-workers and did an ActiveRain Blogging Class - what fun.  I had told my co-workers about blogging and ActiveRain at our quarterly meeting when our Principal Brokers asked if I would share my greatest business building tool.  Of course - those of you that have been on the Rain know how powerful this wonderful community is and what blogging can do for your business but for all of these great agents it was a new adventure.

So, tonight we got together at our La Pine Office, armed with laptops, photos and some fun things to do in Central Oregon.  Class went well, we learned how to post to localism, insert photos with descriptions, spell check, adding associates, creating associate groups, subscribing to blogs and joining groups.

Please visit my fellow co-workers - see what their first or in a few cases not first but fairly new posts are.

Central Oregon REALTORS at work

This is myself, our Principal Broker Dianne Willis and her husband, Broker Bob commenting on their first ActiveRain Blogs - Bob's First Blog is Fishing The Frozen Lake!

Ok... so Bob needs to add a photo - to his post and to his profile - but we will get him up to speed.

Broker Bobbie Bashian

Bobbie Bashain, Broker - hard at work on her first ActiveRain Blog - she wrote about a great neighborhood which often times features river front views and mountain views... Live Like Your On Vacation

Central Oregon Brokers Blogging

This photo is of Heidi Webb and Kelly Winch -

Kelly is a mean tennis player and Sunriver is a great place to play Tennis - Many of our visitors and home owners take advantage of the beautiful tennis courts in Sunriver - Kelly's Blog is Tennis Anyone?Sunriver Courts Are Free of Snow

Heidi wrote about The High Desert Museum which is one of the big attractions located between Bend and Sunriver with exhibits changing all the time this is a great place to go time and time again.  Central Oregon's High Desert Museum.

Gerrie Wright Broker

Gerrie Wright - this lady has a great slogan - "You Can't Go Wrong With Wright" Gerrie is a long time resident of our area and she and I can swap stories for days about the things we did growing up.... she will make you laugh with her post Want To Go Skinny Dipping?

Broker Amy Campbell

Amy Campbell, which some of you have met, and is my new partner, wrote a great article about Crosswater Golfing - Amy actually has first hand knowledge of this course and for many of our clients this course is a course they only dream of playing on.  Fore What's on the Links at Crosswater, Sunriver Oregon.

So there you have it... my first ActiveRain class and what it produced... I am very proud of each of these agents for stepping up to the plate, venturing into an unknown and new area of marketing.  I hope each of you will support them the way you have supported me.

Thesa, How fun. I look forward to meeting more of your friends/pupils here in the Rain.

Carla, AR is very addictive. We even have a few groups for AR addicts.

Thesa, I'll bet you were a great teacher also.  I love the new picture.  I'm thinking you had that one professionally done.  I really need to do that.

It is a lot of fun having others in your office who are also on Active Rain.

To my friend and partner - thank you!  thank you!  You taught a great class tonight!  I think that I can speak for all of us when I say that you are a wealth of information and we all (especially me) truly appreciate your generosity. I think that all that attended will be addicted before we know it.  You ROCK!

So this is wonderful, helping your co-workers and broker/owners. I've set down with many people at my office too and helped one on one. I'll be teaching a class in May, I wonder if that is the best way, or more one on one time is better. Seems like everyone has different questions and "how do I do this?"

Thesa - I had actually checked out the New Members list last night and saw Bob's name in La Pine and realized that was your office.  That is extremely nice of you to round them up & teach them.

Thesa,

Hope that you and your Hubby are doing well. Sharing and teaching is the single greatest way I know how to learn a subject well. Nice Profile Pic.

That's a good idea; offering blogging classes. That may be what most people need. Our broker has been talking about AR to some of the committees at our REALTOR Association.

Thesa,

How wonderful and looks like loads of fun.

I find we have a little competition in our office to see who can remain in the ranking lead.

We learn lots from AR, no doubt.

Thesa, what a great idea.  I am going to do the same with my mortgage brokers here in Sacramento CA.  I am new to this myself and I learn better if I see one do one.  Know what I mean?  In fact I may open this up to real estate agents and put on a class.  So if you know of someone who wants to learn more and are located in the Sacramneto area.  Forward them my info.  Good luck.

Great success story, and visionary ideas.......... I too am a new blogger.  I have gotten so involved that I forget sometimes how long I have been on the computer.  I actually wrote 4 blogs the other day not realiezing that you can only post so many a week for "credit" - no matter, I had fun doing it!

Enjoy your new horizons!  This is the year for real estate to finally SOAR..................

Thesa, this is such a wonderful story.  Looks like you found the right office, where they respect what you do enough to want to learn about it.  And this is a great introduction - I'll go comment on all these posts. Thanks for the intro to your co-workers.

Hi Thesa,

Great way to get everyone on board, nothing like "hands on" training to get them up to speed. Best of luck to all and you are a great role model! :)

Thesa,

Congrats on your gold star and for helping your associates learn about blogging.  I lead a class today at my C21 office for our agents to introduce them to AR.  I even wrote a post on our brand new company blog about it, and included links and pics of the AR gurus.......... but sadly I did not get a gold star!  I'm happy for you, though! Nice that you thought to take pics while you were doing the class... maybe next time I'll do that, too. ;0)
